Born in Madrid, early on in his childhood, Jorge Rico spent a lot of time traveling with his father through Spain for work, spending a lot of time alone and observing the world around him. He discovered his passion for pictures while capturing his father's adventures with an old 35mm camera that used to belong to his grandpa.

After finishing his studies at a film institute, for quite a long time, Jorge worked on films and TV shows for Spanish and foreign productions as a camera and lighting technician. During this time, he developed an interest in plastic and visual arts. Soon after, Jorge started learning new ways of expression, especially with analog formats, focusing on humans and their relationships.

For the past years, he has built a career as a photographer working on projects for magazines such as Vogue Italia, Metal Magazine, Kaltblut Magazine, Neo2 Magazine, Pineapple Magazine, and many others. Jorge also worked as a cinematographer with some underground filmmakers, always adding his personal touch to each project. Canada (Spain), Landia (Argentina), and Hiersoir (France) are some of the production companies for which Rico made commercials and music videos.

In Jorge’s work, we can see an intimate, organic, and loving vision of Spanish folklore, which was influenced by his childhood days alone on the infinite roads with his father. Jorge often uses queer elements in his work. Those elements involve the sensibility of his current life and friends.
