Franziska Heinemann is a colorist who collaborates globally on commercials, music videos, films, and TV series. Her passion for reading, painting, and drawing, along with her love for exploring museums and nature, has shaped her keen eye for aesthetics and fine details. Based primarily between Bavaria and Cape Town, her portfolio includes collaborations with renowned brands such as Adidas, Benetton, Doctors Without Borders, Google, and Tesla. Franzi's work has earned her multiple awards, including ADC and Clio, as well as the "Best Color Grading" award at Berlin Commercial. Her distinct look for Guardians of Colors gained industry-wide acclaim and was screened at Camerimage.

To me, each new project is an untouched canvas. Just as one can never step into the same river twice, I approach every collaboration with fresh eyes, avoiding routines or trends, and always striving to create something new and authentic.

I am particularly drawn to projects shot on film—not just for the unique texture and organic dynamic range of celluloid, but because film’s inherent limitations foster a more mindful environment. These constraints often shape performances, camera work, and editing in ways that digital formats can’t replicate.

Beyond visual aesthetics, I have a deep appreciation for stories that explore the complexities of the human condition and aim to inspire positive change. I believe aesthetics should never exist in isolation from ethics—this principle applies both to the production process and to the narrative as a whole.
