Francisco Canton is a photographer and director based in Buenos Aires. Francisco studied graphic design and art direction, which developed into a strong interest in film and photography. He is part of the Pantera directors' collective, which is focused on music videos, short films, commercials, and documentaries. In his spare time, Francisco devotes himself to photography.

I believe that part of my photographs must be inherently informed by filmmaking, perhaps as connected to the narrative. There is something that comes with editing and creating a dialog between images — a juxtaposition of the real and the oneiric that sometimes can feel uncanny yet familiar if captured in a certain way. It's a constant tension between the strange and the mundane I enjoy playing with.

Francisco's photographs are observations and, at the same time, are decisive. They are looking for-looking into, framing things into being subjects. His approach sets balance and structure into a scene. Francisco's work seems to invite the viewer and the subject into a back-and-forth movement that pulls towards the photographer, creating a self-propelling dynamic which finds, pulls, and frames the scenes into life.
