Dominika Szmid is a Polish stylist and consultant currently based in Tokyo, Japan. Growing up in Eastern Europe, she discovered a completely different world: that of Asian pop culture, especially the underground one, and shortly after studying Japanese language and culture at Warsaw University, she moved to Tokyo to study fashion design at Bunka fashion college.

‘I started working on photoshoots almost by accident while helping friends. It gave me a chance to meet many fascinating people and look into my deep core. Discovering new people and expressing my feelings drive me the most.’

Today, when working on editorials and photoshoots I tend to gravitate towards dark or melancholic imagery. Working with clients I'm trying to channel my interests into Asian culture through the Brutalist eastern-European aesthetics and create visuals based on that.
