I’m a multidisciplinary artist working between image-making, writing, and directing. Across each medium that I choose, there is a fascination with the human experience: memory, archiving, time, touch, and intimacy. In my creativity, I am propelled by a feeling in my body. Through such an approach, words and images become moments in time, moments been and gone.
Before moving to London, I grew up in Manchester, and it was here that I was first introduced to fashion and publishing. There was a magazine shop in the Northern Quarter – that has sadly since closed – where I would go and lose myself in all the different forms of printed imagery. I was totally in love. This was when I knew what I wanted to do in life.
When working on a new project, it’s important that I have an emotional feeling towards it. This becomes a really important part of my process that allows me to engage with the subject in a more meaningful way. Between the editorials and lookbooks, I hope to create more photobook projects. I’m interested in how people can interact with my work physically; how they can hold it, touch it, and feel it.
