Sadie Lauder is a Hair, Makeup, and SFX artist working in Fashion, Editorial, Film, and TV. Sadie was born in Banbury and now lives in Greater London in Gerrards Cross. She currently focuses on bringing unconventional materials into her looks and turning the typically basic or unaesthetic items into beautiful and impactful images. Sadie worked across a range of productions, shoots, and videos, including Netflix, Marvel, ITV, Ted Baker, Vogue, and Hello! Magazine, as well as with celebrities for events such as The Brit Awards, Fashion Weeks, and Red Carpets.

I always loved makeup and artistic subjects from a young age, doing my own makeup for dance shows and taking creative lessons at school, but I never considered it a career option until I finished my A-Levels. I was looking into degrees and came across The Iver Makeup Academy based at Pinewood Studios and fell in love with the idea of the career path and the industry. I have a fluid style that I have developed working across a wide range of industry jobs. I love working with 3D textures and colour, creating bold and impactful images and looks that highlight the face using typically questionable techniques, looks, and effects in a beautiful and unique way.

I love bringing prosthetics into typical beauty makeup, especially as prosthetics are usually used for creating wounds or injuries, but I enjoy making them beautiful as another form of artistic expression. I love incorporating colour into my work and treating the face and hair as a canvas to work on, not being constructed by traditional beauty standards but rather pushing boundaries. I always work to make the final look a piece of art and I hope the images or videos it results in inspire other people to look at our industry and work in a different and exciting way. I always aim to create dynamic looks that make the viewer take a second to process every element of the hair and makeup and see the aesthetic qualities of the look as a whole as well as the individual elements that work together in unique and interesting ways.
