Hui Choi was born in Hubei and now lives and works in Guangzhou, China. He is the founder of two independent brands in Guangzhou: a hair design salon called CaoJie PUSH PULL and a darkroom Bath Room. His work has been widely published on the local scene and abroad, using gentle colors and lyrical storytelling to connect the core of the subject and the outside world. Hui Choi's work includes poetry, photography, and hairstyling.

I've been in the hairdressing industry for over ten years since I was a child. During this time, I learned a lot about the fashion industry. I've always been passionate about creating in this environment and getting more insights into photography.

At some point, I became more aware of the hairdressing industry's limitations. In 2017, I started taking pictures, mainly for commercial projects. During 2018, I began to dive deeper into personal work, focusing on social issues and my inner world, trying to find my visual language in photography.
