Xandra de Kok is a Photographer and Visual Artist born and raised in Madrid, Spain, and currently living and working in Amsterdam. She studied Fine Arts Photography at Istituto Europeo di Design with a background in Fashion Design.

Xandra mainly works with analog medium, which makes her way of seeing and transmitting fragility more vividly to the eyes of the beholder. She exposes traces of melancholy and vulnerability, projecting the scene of the characters she captures.

The conception of beauty for Xandra is still something untapped and new, something she tries to face through her work. She has long given up herself for others, and as a result, she seeks to direct her photography towards a therapeutic goal that will help her heal and transform.

I want to create an inner performance about my trauma, which was carried on for a long time. Living at the center of a wound still fresh, trying to find the place where I lost myself long ago when body and the mind conflate. An imminent collision between images/reactions to a stimulus.
