Elrun Rose is a photographer based between New York, Paris, and Tel Aviv, whose passion for imagery began in childhood. Some of his earliest memories involve sitting on his mother’s lap, flipping through the pages of Vogue. Inspired by the beauty and storytelling in those images, he began photographing his family, eagerly developing prints and organizing them into albums. The joy his photos brought to others sparked a deep connection to the craft, laying the foundation for his lifelong dedication to storytelling through photography.

‘It’s funny how the things that have always been with us are the ones that stick.’

At 27, I was working as a lawyer, feeling unfulfilled, coming out of a six-year relationship, and searching for something new. On a whim, I bought a camera and booked a flight to India to take a break. That trip changed everything. Nearly a decade later, my love for photography has only grown, becoming both my passion and purpose. I’m driven by the thrill of capturing emotions, stories, and the beauty of the world around me.

I primarily work with film because it brings me closer to the essence of photography. Film makes me fully present—there’s no screen to rely on, just trust in my instincts and a leap of faith every time I press the shutter. I see the image before I take it—the light, the emotion, and the story it holds. It’s like catching a fleeting whisper, a moment of magic framed forever. Though my work has taken me far, in many ways, I’m still that kid carefully placing photos into albums, cherishing the simple joy of sharing moments that bring happiness to others.
