My style celebrates individuality and natural beauty. I’m drawn to capturing subjects in empowering yet intimate settings—whether they’re standing strong with a bit of attitude or relaxed, as if surrounded by friends in a bedroom. Growing up as a young woman in Japan, I became deeply aware of societal views on women and the body. These experiences shape my work, where I strive to challenge traditional beauty standards by showcasing diverse models, including medium-sized and curvier figures. My goal is to convey that beauty is limitless, encouraging younger audiences to embrace self-love and body confidence—something I would have deeply valued as a teenager.
My creative process varies depending on the project, but it is always rooted in collaboration and spontaneity. Rather than adhering to a rigid vision, I thrive on open communication with my team and subjects, allowing the process to unfold organically—much like jazz music. For me, creating is about embracing imperfection, making the most of what’s present, and finding joy in the journey. This mindset reflects how I approach life as well: going with the flow and trusting the process.
