Jesse May Fisher is a London-based director and photographer working across art, fashion, and music. Her work has been exhibited at the Saatchi Gallery, Ugly Duck, and SISSI Club and featured in magazines such as Aesthetica, Nasty, and Swarm. She has directed music videos for artists such as Erika de Casier, Anaiis, and Etta Marcus. Jesse graduated from the Royal College of Art, studying Contemporary Art Practice.

Through my image-making, I create worlds that are ethereal, erotic, and esoteric. Whether it is an editorial, a music video, or a personal art film, my work centers on the body for its beauty and abjectness. I am interested in the thresholds between what seduces and repulses us. Femininity and the shadow side of the feminine psyche are rich areas of influence. Formally, I am drawn to softness and curved shapes, fluid movement, and watery textures.

My practice is grounded in my attempts to express the darkness and complexity of what it means to be a woman and to have a female body. This intrigue stems from personal experiences of spending time in the hospital as a teenager, undergoing many checks, scans, and operations on my reproductive organs. My work provides a way to process some of these experiences while serving as a space to express my perspective on beauty and build my visual world.
