I aim to capture a kind of tension and psychological connection in the people I photograph. Whether it's overtly theatrical or a candid in-between-moment — I try to find expressions in my subjects at either end of this spectrum. Weaving a story together with the help of lighting, angles, colors, makeup, and props, collaborating tightly with my team — is what I like in my work.
I always loved photography and visual art, but it was after I got my first analog camera that I disappeared permanently down the rabbit hole of photography. Analog photography is a certain magic. I love a long sweeping exposure or movement of some kind to capture an abstract mood or feeling. While my vision is to create a body of work that catches the eye, I also want it to be real, honest, and playful. Work that shows unconventional beauty.
